A number of student grants,
funded by EPSRC,
are available.
These grants are intended for UK-based PhD students
working in an area related to the CiE-conference.
They will in general cover the CiE 2006 registration fee,
accommodation for the time of the conference,
and some support for meals.
A limited number of UK student grants and
former Soviet Union grants, funded by the
LMS, are available.
UK-based PhD research students
and researchers from former Soviet Union countries
working in an area related to the CiE-conference
may apply for such a grant.
The student grants will in general cover the accommodation for the
time of the conference, and some support for meals -
any support should normally be matched by equal support from their
Departments.
The former Soviet Union grants will in general cover
the CiE 2006 registration fee, accommodation for the time of the
conference, some support for meals, and some support of travel costs.
A limited number of UK student grants, funded by the
BLC, are available.
UK-based PhD research students
working in an area related to the CiE-conference
may apply for such a grant.
The student grants will in general cover the accommodation for the
time of the conference, and some support for meals -
any support should normally be matched by equal support from their
Departments.
Registered students,
who are members of the ASL, may apply
for ASL travel funds.
Applications have to be addressed directly to the ASL,
see their web-site for more information.
Applying for a student grant
Students who want to apply for one of the student grants should send an email
to

with subject "CiE06 student grant application" containing
the following information:

Contact information of the student: name, affiliation, email, phone.
A short curriculum vitae.
A brief supporting email from a supervisor - this email should come
directly from their supervisor.
A request letter which includes a clear motivation why the student
wants to visit CiE06 and why they need a grant.
In the request letter it should be made clear whether the student
has submitted a paper to the conference.
In case they have, a copy of the paper should be included.
The request letter should also address whether the student's home
department will partially finance their attendence at CiE06.
